For those looking for the perfect date night with your S.O., bestie or family, look no further as there is no better evening than an evening under the Big Top at KURIOS!

Cirque du Soleil’s KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities will be performing under the iconic blue-and-yellow Big Top at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie beginning February 17, 2017 through March 26, 2017. Tickets range in price from $35 – $175 and will be available by visiting cirquedusoleil.com/kurios or calling 1-877-9 CIRQUE (1-877-924-7783).

In an alternate yet familiar past, in a place where wonders abound for those who trust their imagination, a Seeker discovers that in order to glimpse the marvels that lie just below the surface, we must first learn to close our eyes. In his larger-than-life curio cabinet, the Seeker is convinced that there exists a hidden, invisible world – a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams lie waiting. A collection of otherworldly characters suddenly steps into his makeshift mechanical world. When the outlandish, benevolent characters turn his world upside down with a touch of poetry and humor in an attempt to ignite the Seeker’s imagination, his curios jump to life one by one before his very eyes.

What if by engaging our imagination and opening our minds we could unlock the door to a world of wonders?

Since the debut of KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities, the critics have been raving across North America:

β€œCirque du Soleil has come roaring back with KURIOS – a dazzling, hyper-detailed and generally fantastic show that reveals this extraordinary artistic company’s singular capacity for exploration and metamorphosis.  It is not to be missed on any account,” said Chris Jones in The Chicago Tribune.  β€œKURIOS is the most enthralling, consistently over-the-top magical show Cirque du Soleil has sent our way in a long time,” raved Robert Hurwitt in The San Francisco Chronicle.  β€œKURIOS is the most joyous piece of theater I’ve seen in years and it will lift your spirits to the stars,” said Richard Ouzounian in The Toronto Star.  And Misha Berson in The Seattle Times raved, β€œKURIOS thrills in a splendidly captivating new show.” The Los Angeles Times made it a Critic’s Choice.

Written and directed by Michel Laprise, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities is a tale in which time comes to a complete stop, transporting the audience inside a fantasy world where everything is possible. In this realm set in the latter half of the nineteenth century, reality is quite relative indeed as our perception of it is utterly transformed. The name of the show refers to the humble and strange characters that inhabit the Seeker’s Cabinet of Curiosities.

On the evening of Tuesday, February 21st, influencers, artists, chefs, entertainers, authors and sports figures alike gathered for the premiere of Cirque du Soleil KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiositiesβ„’, written and directed by Michel Laprise. It was an art-inspired evening as a live pianist and florist greeted guests as they arrived at the iconic yellow-and-blue Big Top at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie. Attendees experienced a taste of the amazing talent of KURIOS upon entering the site as three artists climbed the Big Top to greet guests from above, acrobats performed on the Red Carpet, and an artist posed for pictures atop stilts.

With libations in hand and the sounds of excited show-goers, guests mingled beneath the Big Top at the pre-show reception. Culinary artists including Stephan Pyles, John Tesar, Kent Rathbun, Tim Byres, Danyele McPherson, Tiffany Derry, Chocolatier Katherine Clapner and Cheesemaker Paula Lambert enjoyed the evening alongside numerous Dallas Stars teammates.  A number of local DFW celebrities were also in attendance, including Event Producer and former Supermodel Jan Strimple, Real Housewives of Dallas Star LeeAnne Locken, Lifestyle Guru Cynthia Smoot, TV Personality Courtney Kerr, Producer and former Model Rhonda Sargent Chambers, Model Chandra North and Daniel Blaylock, Floral and Event Designer Shane Walker and Neiman Marcus’ Chuck Steelman.
