Classic and Frozen margaritas just $5 all day; live band takes the patio at 5 p.m.
North Texans are blessed with an abundance of choices when it comes to finding a margarita on Cinco de Mayo.
Those who seek a better margarita – one made with premium spirits and juices that are squeezed in-house daily – are invited to join the party at Mexican Sugar Cocina y Cantina.
The stylish Plano restaurant known for its distinctive hacienda atmosphere and “sultry Mexican comfort” is preparing for a Cinco de Mayo to remember.
For starters, its Classic and Frozen Margaritas will be offered at a special $5 price all day on Thursday, May 5. That’s half off for a margarita made with only high-quality ingredients, including freshly squeezed juices, using Mexican Sugar’s signature recipes:

Of course, Mexican Sugar’s entire lineup of eight premium margaritas – including the Hibiscus Margarita (named “Best of Big D” by D Magazine), Smoked Pineapple Margarita and La Doña Margarita – will also be available throughout Cinco de Mayo.
And starting a 5 p.m., a live band will be performing on the restaurant’s beautiful and spacious patio, adding the perfect touch to the relaxing Mexican Sugar ambiance.
“We don’t think there will be a better place in the Metroplex to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than at Mexican Sugar,” said Jason Danford, Mexican Sugar’s Director of Operation. “In a very short time, we’ve gained a reputation as “the” destination for premium margaritas in North Texas. And when you add in the live band, our $5 specials and our incredible Latin cuisine, the choice seems obvious!”
Mexican Sugar redefines Mexican food with its emphasis on fresher, lighter and better Latin cuisine that uses the best possible local ingredients, fresh fish and a live wood grill to create a flavorful menu of “handmade everything.” Its small batch cocktails flow from taps while soft candles and intoxicating Latin rhythms set a warm and sultry tone.
