Local Favorites Delivered in 10 minutes or Less

Starting tomorrow, November 5, 2015, UberEATS will serve Dallasites delicious meals that define the local food scene in under 10 minutes!

I got to try this out for lunch today and have to say, this is a major milestone for Dallas! Gone are the days of ordering typical takeout, Chinese and pizza (and waiting 45+ minutes)! The UberEATS delivery was quick. I have to say I can see myself becoming spoiled to the prompt 10- minute delivery times. The food (I ordered the The Rustic Burger [below]) was not-so-surprisingly fresh! Though we know Uber and it’s partners would not roll out something that was incomplete. I spoke with one of the Uber associates regarding Uber’s extensive preparation process-the Uber office became a lab. Daily the team would experiment with their in-car electric coolers (warmers?) for over six hours in-office to test how each menu item would hold up and at what setting. The time dedicated shows in the end result. My Rustic Burger was still hot, not soggy (something I admittedly was concerned about) and finally, it was full of that Rustic flavor we Dallasites are known to love!

“At UberEATS we are excited to partner with the best local chefs and restaurants to bring Dallasites an experience that has never been possible before,” said UberEATS General Manager Jordan Chapman. “In 10 minutes or less, users can enjoy a variety of local dishes from a curated menu that changes daily.”

The UberEATS menu features a choice of three or more signature dishes, each from a different local restaurant. We’re kicking off the service in #ThrowBackThursday style, featuring dishes from three local chefs who have teamed up with Uber Dallas before: Chad Houser from Cafe Momentum [above], Tim Byres from Smoke Dallas [below] and restaurant creator Kyle Noonan from The Rustic [below].

“I am excited to be able to get SMOKE out on the road and out to a wider audience,” said Tim Byres, Smoke Dallas. “Sometimes life gets in the way and prevents you from being able to go out and try a new restaurant, and thanks to UberEATS people who have always wanted to try SMOKE now have the ability to have it delivered right to them.”

What is UberEATS?

UberEATS is an on-demand meal delivery service powered by the Uber app.

It’s the same cashless payment as an Uber ride. All you need to do is open the app, select the EATS option, choose your meal, tap a button to place your order, and the meal will be delivered curbside within 10 minutes. Users will have a choice each day between three meals from three different restaurants, plus desserts or drinks.

Our curated menu changes daily, offering up a selection of local favorites, lunchtime staples, and the newest, crave-worthy bites to satisfy every eater.

After we officially launch on Thursday, UberEATS will be available for lunch MondayFriday from 11am – 2pm in the Downtown, Uptown, and Oaklawn area. (Map here. We plan to expand across the city as demand increases).

UberEATS meals range from $8 – $12.
